During my time in the Blue Valley CAPS Education program, I participated in three observations in classrooms, one being in a 1st grade classroom, and the other two being in a 6th grade classroom. The 1st grade classroom was very interesting because it taught me a lot about how those kids are actually just learning about right and wrong, and along with teaching them basic math, english, science, and social studies, teachers also have to teach them basic life skills.

I chose to stay in the same 6th grade classroom for two observations, simply because I loved the experience so much. I liked the energy of the kids, and how two days would never be the same. I liked how the kids were in an interesting stage of maturity. Furthermore, I absolutely loved my mentor teacher. He genuinely cared about his kids while knowing how to manage his classroom, and all the kids adored him. He gave me excellent classroom management advice and inspired me with how well his class was run. I am incredibly grateful for that observation experience.
